A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking a Realtor tour of the Gateway Quarter. Having lived on Main Street in OTR when I first moved back to Cincy and having gone on a few different OTR Tour of Homes events, I knew the basics and had even seen a few of the condos up close before. But I was impressed once again.
Even in the 2 years since I have lived there things have really picked up. Currently 3CDC and the Gateway Quarter own almost all of Vine Street, up to about 15th, and they have big plans. What they do is mostly condos and the Tribeca lofts will be the next project, located at Vine and 13th. The Duveneck lofts have been my favorite since I saw them last year at the OTR tour and they stayed my fav even after visiting quite a few others. The rooftop decks are awesome and the exposed duct work, brick and original floors really add great detail. Bill Baum, who designed these, really did a great job of keeping as much of the original character as possible.
While we still desperately need a full service grocery, Whole Foods where are you? The amenities and shops are rapidly improving. Lavomatic the newest restaurant by Jean Robert opened at Vine and 12th. Park + Vine, an eco friendly general store is at Vine and 11th. There is also City Roots, a very cool garden shop.
I know it’s not perfect but I do finally think big things are coming. With the continued development of the area, there are more and more opportunities to find that perfect place for you. Just think of all the gas money you could save walking to work, the Reds games, Aronoff and more! Plus once the street car comes I think you will see huge changes. And it does look more and more like it will happen- see this article at cincinnati.com about the progress.
If you are interested in finding out more about OTR and the opportunities there, I’d be happy to help.
